Lending Policy
The Agricultural Finance Corporation is authorized to develop the agriculture and agricultural industries by making loans to:-
- Farmers
- Cooperative Societies
- Incorporated group representatives
- Private companies
- Public bodies
- Local authorities
- Other persons engaging in agriculture or agricultural industries.
Loan Processing
A prospective applicant prepares and forwards to AFC a business proposal which is evaluated.
- The proposal is reviewed and accessed for eligibility
- Eligible applicants are then requested to apply for the loan by completing the prescribed application form
- The client will be required to pay processing fee

General Information
All agricultural and agro based projects are financed.
- Existing or previous clients should have no loan arrears
- All loan requests require proper, acceptable and adequate security
- Acceptable securities include but are not limited to the following:-
- Land title - first charge
- Lien on fixed bank deposits
- Personal guarantees
- Charge on chattels
- Applications from legal entities i.e. Companies, partnerships, Cooperative Societies etc require submission of properly audited financial statements including income statements and balance sheet, covering immediate and the past three consecutive years
In addition the following items are required.
- Certified copy of the memorandum and articles of association
- A resolution to borrow from AFC
- A certified copy of registration certificate
- A list of names of directors, share holders their occupation addresses and shareholding
- In case of Cooperation a clearance certificate by Commissioner for Cooperatives
- In case of partnerships a certified copy of partnership deed and registration certificate
Provision of personal guarantees by the Directors/officials and at least two major shareholders.
